About
US Ocean
US Ocean LLC, America’s only heavy lift US Flag carrier, provides project and heavy-lift service worldwide. The company operates four (4) heavy-lift vessels under the US Flag. The M/V Ocean Atlas began flying the U.S. flag in early 2002, the M/V Ocean Titan in mid 2005, the Ocean Charger in mid 2009, and the latest addition the M/V Ocean Crescent in mid 2010. All vessels built in 2000 and 2002 are enrolled in the Voluntary Intermodal Sealift Agreement (VISA) and MSP programs sponsored by MARAD and the Department of Defense’s sealift readiness.
Over the past eight years, the Ocean Atlas, Ocean Titan, and Ocean Charger have been actively moving military and commercial project cargoes between the United States and worldwide destinations. The addition of a fourth vessel, the M/V Ocean Crescent, brings more flexibility to support upcoming projects requiring the use of U.S. Flag vessels. These multipurpose heavy lift vessels are part of seven sister ships in the Intermarine fleet that have become the workhorses of the company in the South America and Asia Trades.
The 8,000 DWT Century Class vessels have 400 metric tons lifting capacity, about 400,000-cuft bale, box-shaped holds with tweendecks adjustable in three positions, and 16.5 knot service speed. The ships are very well suited for the movement of project/heavy-lift and military cargoes such as heat exchangers, turbines, generators, locomotives, refinery equipment and the like.
Intermarine is a worldwide provider of ocean transport as well as inland heavy haul transportation services for breakbulk, specialized project and heavy lift cargoes. Its global sailings include regularly scheduled services between the United States/Mexico and the Americas, Asia, and other worldwide destinations.
