Intermarine Transports Pre-Fabricated Building

Intermarine loads an enormous control house at its terminal in Houston for an oil rig under construction at Okpo, Korea. The building weighing 500 MT and measuring 89’ long, 79’ wide, and 34’ high, was moved by Intermarine from its fabrication plant in Houston all the way through to Okpo. For the inland move to the load port, Intermarine utilized special self-propelled modular trailers (SPMT’s) to roll the building onto a barge at the fabrication site for its subsequent transport to the loading terminal. Once the barge was alongside the pier, Intermarine used a 1,500 MT shore crane to land the building to the dock and then load it to the deck of the vessel.
