Discharging H/L in Nola

The Industrial Champ prepares to discharge

An Intermarine heavy lift vessel discharges refinery components at the Chalmette slip in New Orleans directly from ship to barge. The vessel dischaged two reactors and six heat exchangers plus accessories. The heaviest piece was a 375-ton reactor. The shipment also included a 135-ton reactor and five 85-ton heat exchangers. All pieces were discharged utilizing vessel gear directly onto two deck barges for the subsequent transport to the construction site near Baton Rouge, Louisiana. For this move, Intermarine used the Industrial Champ, one of seven vessels in the fleet capable of making lifts up to 400 metric tons.
