Eagle loads blades
The industrial Eagle loads wind energy components on its maden voyage in Santos, Brazil for Houston. The first in a series of four ships to enter the Intermarine fleet in the next 12 months was delivered in late December 2008. Designated as the Eagle class vessels, these 10,000 dwt ships feature dual 250 metric ton cranes that may be combined for 500-ton lifts. With an overall length of 139 meters and beam of 20 meters, the ships have a similar hull design as the seven Century and six Diamond class vessels operated by Intermarine services, but with increased cargo carrying capacity. The remaining ships the Industrial Egret, Industrial Edge and Industrial Echo are to deliver in intervals of three months thereafter.
Intermarine is a worldwide provider of ocean transport as well as inland heavy haul transportation services for breakbulk, specialized project and heavy lift cargoes.
