Relay Service | Korea to Pto Cabello

 Discharging trafos from Rickmers vessel

Intermarine’s relay services group recently moved three 180 metric transformers from Masan, Korea to Puerto Cabello, Venezuela via Houston, Texas. The transformers were carried by a Rickmers vessel from Korea to Houston. Once in Houston, the heavy lift pieces were discharged onto a barge for the transfer to Industrial Terminals, Intermarine’s own terminal. Subsequently, the 180-ton transformers were loaded directly from barge to ship aboard the M/V Industrial Dolphin, one of our new heavy lift vessels capable of handling lifts up to 500 tons. Intermarine offers weekly sailings from Houston to Puerto Cabello so the transformers did not have to wait long for the on-carriage to Puerto Cabello. The complete operation took place just a few days apart. This is an example of Intermarine’s relay services capabilities to service special shipments from the Far East to South America via Houston. Intermarine offers the fastest and most frequent services to South America and the Caribbean. They include weekly service to NCSA, fortnightly service to WCSA, and three times monthly to ECSA.
