Providing creative technical solutions to meet client demands
Intermarine's in-house Technical Services department provides creative technical and Port Captain solutions to assist clients with customized stowage, lifting, and securing arrangements for all cargo types. The department is staffed with Master Mariners, Naval Architects, Former Vessel Captains and Structural Engineers whose combined experience totals more than a century.
For 25 years Intermarine's technical department has customized more than 5,000 cargo plans for 2,500 voyages. We offer creative technical solutions to meet client demands and provide 24-hour supervision of all cargo operations at our Houston load center, Industrial Terminals.
Customized Method Statements: Intermarine's customized method statements are prepared for any heavylift cargoes weighing in at more than 100 metric tons or for any other cargoes that have been requested by the customer. Our method statement is comprised of a step-by-step loading/discharging procedure, stowage plans, lifting plans, securing plans and supporting calculations. This procedure ensures that the cargo is loaded safely and efficiently. Additionally, Intermarine's robust HSE and QA programs provide the assurance you need that your cargo will be moved safely and according to plan.
Port Captain Services: Our highly experienced Port Captains evaluate and execute the stowage and securing of cargoes at Industrial Terminals, as well as, other worldwide port facilities when necessary for any specialized cargoes. Once loading is complete, a full report is drafted to include a final stowage plan and detailed discharge instructions including photographs. These reports aid in the reduction of time at discharge port and risk of damage to cargo.
Target Cargo Program: Intermarine can provide our clients with a photographic report of their cargos booked on our vessels. This report includes photos of the cargo on the dock, cargo loading on the vessel, and cargo secured on the vessel.
Drawing Software and 3D Modeling: Intermarine uses Microsoft Visio and LoadPlanner for generalized cargo stowage, lifting and securing drawings. If more detailed or precise analysis is needed, further drawings can be drafted using AutoCAD. For the analysis of highly specialized cargos, Intermarine also offers in-house Finite Element Analysis and 3D modeling. This powerful 3D software enables us to provide the customer with 3D models of their cargoes in addition to animated loading/lifting operations.
