Intermarine Takes Delivery of Sixth Newbuilding
Intermarine has announced that the M/V Industrial Dart, the sixth new heavy lift ship entering the Intermarine services fleet, was delivered in Portugal in Mid January. The ship was immediately put into service and positioned to Aviles, Spain, where the vessel loaded wind power generation components for Fairless Hill, Pennsylvania. Upon completion of discharge operations, the vessel is joining Intermarine’s services fleet to South America.
Designated by Intermarine as the D-Class vessels, the six ships are named Industrial Diamond, Industrial Destiny, Industrial Dawn, Industrial Dream, Industrial Dolphin, and Industrial Dart. The 8,000 dwt vessels feature dual 250 metric ton cranes that may be combined for 500-ton lifts. With an overall length of 120 meters and beam of 20 meters, the ships have the same hull design as the seven Century class vessels also built by the ENVC yard and operated by Intermarine services. The new ships incorporate enhanced cargo handling capability and increased lifting capacity. Intermarine’s services feature thirteen of these versatile mid-sized heavy lift ships which have become the workhorses of the fleet.
With offices in Houston, New Orleans, Caracas, Buenos Aires, Seoul, Shanghai and Mumbai, Intermarine provides regular and reliable project transportation in the Americas and Asia as well as customized services worldwide.
