Intermarine increases BSC

As the cost of fuel continues to escalate, Intermarine, the agent for Industrial Maritime Carriers and West Coast Industrial Express announces that the carriers will increase the bunker and Panama Canal surcharges on all their services to/from South America and the Caribbean effective May 24, 2008.
The new surcharge levels will be as follows:
Bunker Surcharges:
North, East, and West Coasts of South America including the Caribbean and Mexico - Breakbulk $51.00 w/m as freighted (minimum $51.00); 20ft and 40ft containers will remain at $440.00 and $690.00 per unit respectively.
Panama Canal Surcharges:
Breakbulk $15.00 w/m as freighted (minimum $15.00), containers $175.00 per unit for 20ft containers, and $350.00 per unit for 40ft containers. Applicable to all cargoes transiting the Panama Canal
All subject surcharges apply to all inbound and outbound cargoes and will be effective for all cargoes loaded to carrier’s vessels on or after May 24, 2008.
