Hurricane Vessel Delays
September 8, 2008
As a result of the threat of Hurricane Gustav, our loading vessels at Industrial Terminals in Houston that could not complete before the storm were readied to evacuate the port last Sunday and, depending on their re-entry order, were not able to resume loading until Wednesday or Thursday of last week. This also delayed the arrival of new vessels and their ability to commence loading.
Now, with the anticipation of Ike, there is concern the port may close again late Wednesday or Thursday of this week.
As one would suspect, the impact of these storms has made all schedules a shambles. Please rest assured that Intermarine will make every effort to expedite all vessels, but will do so with safety to the vessels, terminal and cargoes as our first consideration.
We appreciate your understanding and will advise our anticipated loading schedules as soon as they can be made with some certainty.
