Eagle Maiden Voyage

December 15, 2008

Intermarine’s newest heavy lift ship the M/V Industrial Eagle was recently presented with a Maiden Voyage plaque to celebrate the first call of the vessel at Industrial Terminals in Houston. The plaque was presented by Darce Kullman, General Manager of Industrial Terminals to Captain Cvijeto Bozovic, Master of the Industrial Eagle. Attending the ceremony from Intermarine were several sales and operations people as well as numerous clients. The Master and the crew of the vessel had a small cocktail reception on the bridge of the ship to receive all the special guests. Delivered in mid October, the vessel called the port of Houston in late November 2008. The vessel discharged wind energy components from Brazil and loaded project cargoes and containers for the East Coast of South America.

The Industrial Eagle is the first in a series of four new sister ships entering the Intermarine fleet in the next 12 months. Designated as the E-Class vessels, these 10,000 dwt ships feature dual 250 metric ton cranes that may be combined for up to 500-ton lifts. With an overall length of 139 meters and beam of 20 meters, the ships have a similar hull design as the C and D class vessels, but have 20% greater cargo carrying capacity. Intermarine’s service fleet features thirteen of the versatile mid-sized C and D Class ships and now will be adding the four E-class newbuildings. The E-Class ships have been named Industrial Eagle, Industrial Egret, Industrial Edge, and Industrial Echo.

Intermarine is a worldwide provider of ocean transport services as well as inland heavy haul transportation services for breakbulk, specialized project and heavy lift cargoes.
