Egret Maiden Voyage
March 30, 2009
Intermarine’s newest heavy lift ship the M/V Industrial Egret is presented with a Maiden Voyage plaque to celebrate the first call of the vessel at Industrial Terminals in Houston. The plaque was presented by Ernie Farrand of Industrial Terminals to Captain Vasyl Usenko, Master of the Industrial Egret. Attending from Intermarine were also Ken Burns and Jason Martin. Delivered in mid February, the vessel called the port of Houston to discharge wind energy components from Brazil and join the South America services fleet.
The Industrial Egret is the second in a series of four new sister ships entering the Intermarine fleet this year. Designated as the Eagle class vessels, these 10,000 dwt ships feature dual 250 metric ton cranes that may be combined for 500-ton lifts. With an overall length of 139 meters and beam of 20 meters, the ships have a similar hull design as the seven Century and six Diamond class vessels operated by Intermarine services, but with increased cargo carrying capacity. The remaining two ships, the Industrial Edge and Industrial Echo will deliver in intervals of three months thereafter.
Intermarine is a worldwide provider of ocean transport as well as inland heavy haul transportation services for breakbulk, specialized project and heavy lift cargoes.
